Wow it has been a really long time since I have used this blog but I feel it is time to revisit. It is weird looking through the archive of my previous posts and seeing work dating all the way back from college! I have been very busy this last year with my ceramic sculptures, here is an update as to what they look like now (^.^)

Huddles of Spirits

So it is final major time on my degree and I am thinking of display ideas. I am leaning towards groups of spirits as they seem rather sociable creatures and they look too cute huddled together. Create to Commemorate

 

Photographs of Everyday Ritualย exhibited in the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro during their Create to Commemorate exhibiton. Everyday Ritual is a collection of slipcast porcelain teacups that have been broken and decorated with gold luster. Through this piece everyday objects, for example teacups, have been explored and the roles the play in day-to-day tasks and routines.

Photographs of Remains Necklace exhibited in the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro during their Create to Commemorate exhibiton.ย Remains Necklaceย is made from reclaimed porcelain and recycled waste ceramics, transforming unwanted objects into jewellery pieces. The necklace has been decorated with gold luster, playing with the idea of material value.

Dissertation research: reclaimed clay

Within the past few weeks I have been learning how to reclaim waste clay. I have been making pinch pots with the results and combining the clay bodies with handmade frit and waste porcelain slip.
